Slipper Quality Inspection Checklist for Importers

What to check before your slippers leave the factory, from bonding and sizing to cartons and labels.

By the STARDOTS team · Updated

Set the standard first

Inspection only works when everyone agrees what "good" looks like. Use the approved sample as the reference, list the critical, major and minor defects you care about, and agree the sampling level before production. Many importers use AQL sampling for pre-shipment inspections.

Product checks

Compare a random selection of finished pairs with the approved sample:

  • Color and finish match the approved sample and color standard.
  • Size marking is correct and pairs are matched left and right.
  • Measurements of length, width and sole thickness are within tolerance.
  • Straps and toe posts are firmly attached; bonded parts do not separate.
  • Logo position, size, clarity and color are correct.
  • No flashing, bubbles, cracks, stains or deformation on molded parts.
  • No strong odor; pairs are clean and dry before packing.

Packaging and carton checks

  • Hangtags, stickers and barcodes are correct and scannable.
  • Polybags and boxes match the approved packaging sample.
  • Size and color assortment per carton matches the packing list.
  • Carton marks, dimensions and weights match the shipping documents.
  • Cartons are strong enough for the shipping method and are sealed properly.

Testing for your market

Physical and chemical testing requirements differ by destination and channel. Tell your supplier which standards apply as early as possible; STARDOTS can discuss third-party testing for your order so the required reports are planned before shipment.
